Feu Bar, Mornington.
Pre-Australia Day weekend fuelling was a necessity, towards the end of last week; father and son are huge fans of the number 1 survival food on the globe... Which took us to no other than Main St mornington’s newest Pho distributor.
I think it’s fair to say, with all due respect, that seeing Vietnamese chef’s preparing Vietnamese food is always a promising sign. Like it is with any other form of cuisine, and they really had us from the start. Great, friendly service, in a cosy traditional environment.
Stomach’s initial challenge: the grilled beef rice paper roll with satay dipping sauce.
Enormous rolls, no scam here. Unique and tasty satay (a personal must have). Very fresh filling.
The main task: no other than your best two chicken breast Pho’s please!
Huge quantity of meat, which often gets left behind in competing shelters. Massive amount of rice noodles, and incredibly similar broth to those had on the streets of Hanoi. Seriously the best bang for buck that’s been reviewed yet (speaking strictly pho terms). Served with a smile, and casual/comfortable conversation, this is ideal for rainy days approaching us soon here in Melbourne.
Get around it Pho lovers. From memory, they deliver too.
