Today’s Training Highlights:
I’m showing this session backwards because of my 400lbs husafell stone for a 30lbs Pr for 50 feet. In terms of feeling like you’re going to die, this takes the cakes, this may be my favorite lift I’ve done.
This was down after my medley which was inspired by @wusdubai mimicking (sort of) the yoke into shield medley. I did a 725lbs yoke into a 335lbs husafell Stone, which is basically a shield in my eyes. Very tough, I do not envy those who have to do this, especially since I’m certain it will be with significantly more weight. Pretty happy about this run, despite the slow yoke and my legs going nearly numb a little under halfway through the carry.
The way I actually started the season was a pretty clean single on deadlifts. This ended up being 585lbs, which went alright but I’m not happy with the way deads have been going these past two sessions.
18” block pulls followed regular deadlifts. Just overloading that knee area, since it’s where the 635lbs off the floor failed, here I got it for an ugly double. Block pulls are generally bad for me, but I’m ok with how this went, still not good enough though. That went into the medley then husafell (off the ground) PR, which I already covered. Overall, deadlift has been disappointing, but my strongman movements have not. 400lbs off the floor and carried 50 feet is a pretty good feet of strength, and one I am genuinely proud of, I may be able to match that 420lbs off of a block I did off the ground soon, if not 440lbs/200kg, but I don’t want to get a head of myself, but I’m very happy with this, it turned my session around. #husafell #husafellstone #frontcarry #PR #400lbs #wusdubai #shieldcarry #yokemedley #strongman #azstrongman #traindespite #paintopower #libertyperformance #deadlift #6platedeadlift #cleansingle #notgoodenough #18inchdeadlift #blockpull #silverdollardeadlift #belowthekneepull #fixyourweakpoints #begreat
