Commonly referred to as the crossroads of the Lake District, Ambleside is a gorgeous town to the north of Windermere in the Lake District.
⠀⠀ Rooted in the medieval woollen trade, Ambleside is predominantly a Victorian town, the home to many picturesque beautiful stone buildings, both old and new.
⠀⠀ Writers were drawn and inspired by the beauty of this town and surrounding area, so you can nose around the homes of children’s author Beatrix Potter or poet William Wordsworth. There are quirky museums (from steamboats to pencils), interesting shops, excellent selection of walking opportunities with Instagrammable views. It is one of favourite places in the Lake District!
