Pass or be passed....!
@xterraoffroad kicked off the off-road triathlon season 3 days ago at the beautiful @lorystatepark in Colorado.
Last year’s 2018 race was my first tri ever, and while I was trailing the pack, I finished. More importantly, I was hooked!
Then - in September, I was hit by a car while riding my (road) bike. After a broken arm, other injuries, and missing a month of work- I came back last Saturday, determined (and not without doubt) to do it again in 2019.
Not only did I finish, but I improved my time 12 minutes overall, 9 minutes of that on the MTB! Fun!
Swipe right, representing - thanks to @e3fitness for the motivation to build strength again week after week, and to @basecampcyclery for the bike and bringing together a community of mountain bikers at all levels.
Thanks to @sweatco.clint for the #steadmanclinic connection & recovery training, Dr. Hackett for the hardware fix (and pushing me to do this tri before going back under the knife), and @achambs83 for encouraging me to swim- that it might actually help (it did)
Race photo: by @cayce_c and ❤️ lil’ R, my support team! Most important of all.
Whew! A lot to be grateful for.
