It's time once again for #ReflectionFriday , where I reflect on myself, something that happened in my life, how I dealt with it, and just overall showing you all a more vulnerable side of myself.
Running your own business can be rewarding but most of the time it’s just really really hard!
There is no one there to pat you on the back when you do something awesome or when you come up with a good idea. There is no one there to bounce ideas off of. There is no one there to ask for advice or help, and there is no one there to motivate you when you feel like nothing about your business is going right.
I feel like many people who run their own small business make it seems so glamorous, especially on Instagram and Facebook, and I too and guilty of only showing you guys the glamorous side of running Hike Oregon. But it’s not just hiking with my friends all the time...in reality the majority of my Hike Oregon work can be really isolating, really fucking hard, and honestly a bit depressing when you work so hard at it and it’s just not paying off the way you thought it would.
I struggle with these emotions of a small business owner every day. Some days are a win and some days aren’t. Some days I make money, other days I lose money because I didn’t plan things right. It’s still a learning curve and I’m still hopeful that one day I will get it right.
For now I just have to remember to pat myself on the back every once in a while because Hike Oregon is a pretty great brand that I created. 💗
Are any of you👉🏻 small business owners? Can you relate?
