Get well rounded shoulders by focusing on other parts of your shoulders other than those side delts, by adding these few exercises into your workout! Wearing: @boostgymwear 🎵: Nez - Wild Youngster ▪️Rope face pulls: Keep your eyes focused on the cable connection point throughout the exercise. Pull the metal connector that halves the rope, down directly towards your eyes. Keep your elves at shoulder height. ▪️DB Front Raises Performed with an over grip here because I have weak wrists, you can reverse grip here too. Raise each arm slowly to shoulder level. Keep tension in the negative movement (as you descend back to start position). ▪️DB Overhead Press You can do alternating arms here as a see-saw type of movement. Raise the weight overhead by bringing your biceps in line with your ears. Don’t over extend past this... your shoulders ain’t built for that sis. Don’t jerk your chin forward. Keep the tension only in your shoulders. ▪️DB Cheerleader Press If you’ve watched cheer you’re probably well acquainted with this moment by now and you’ve perfected it 🤣, cause I have. KIDDING! Proper push instructions DOWN BELOW! . . . 1) get into a plank position with the palms flat on the ground (or on n elevated surface) aligned under the shoulder & propped up on the balls of the feet. Keeping spine neutral with an invisible line running from the top of the head down and out the tailbone. ENGAGE YOUR CORE! 2) While holding this posture, lower your body by bending the elbows. Focus on keeping your palms planted and elbows pointing back (not out to the side). Aim for your chest touching the ground with about 75-90 degree bend (if you’re newer to push ups 25-75 degree is a great place to start). 3) THE FINAL STEP! This is where your upper body will shine, because you get to push yourself up back into the starting position.. as in PUSH UP your body! . . Congratulations, you’ve done a push up! Now do that 5-10 more times and you’ve done one set of push up! Did 2workouts today 🙃one of them is a short lived one only lasted 7min but yes it’s an AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) I did 6rounds (the first 3clips) and the exercises are: . 5 LEG RAISES 4 PULL UPS 3 HANG SQUAT CLEANS 2 FRONT SQUATS 1SHOULDER PRESS . The Second workout was more for power building really. The 3 EXERCISES: . SQUATS 10-8-6-4-2 SEATED SHOULDER PRESS 10-8-6-4-2 DEADLIFTS 10-8-6-4-2 . Why seated shoulder press? So yesterday, when I woke-up I was genuinely so excited for another week! I have said it before (A LOT), and here I am saying it again, I LOVE MONDAYS! But yesterday for some reason I was ready to put myself on auto pilot and just go through the motions of the week. I wasn’t really wanting to engage with anyone or go above and beyond in any aspect of my day to day. I literally told a few of my friends I wanted to just go to the gym, go to work, be mom and THAT IS IT! For the whole week. I wasn’t sad or mad. I wasn’t depressed, I think more than anything else I was just content. Know what I mean? . But then all day long things just went MY WAY. Literally everything I needed to happen, just happened. It was all so organic and all of a sudden, I was completely saturated in gratitude.  Gratitude for everyone in my life, gratitude for my and my family’s health, gratitude for another freaking day! . This brings me to something I read in a post by @benbergeron over the holidays that has really stuck with me: . When you are going to buy a new car, you see that car everywhere. . When you are grateful, you see reasons to be grateful everywhere. . When you are pissed off, you see reasons to be pissed off everywhere. . Pay attention. Your thoughts shape your world. . By the end of the day I was so full of joy and motivation, I came straight home and loved on my kiddo. Then I made sure I had everything set up for another successful day and I signed my name off on my Monday with confidence. . My goal for this year is to have a healthier mind (yes, I know I’m a little late to the New Year’s Resolutions party) and have more days I am "signing off on" with pride. In order to get there, I am constantly paying attention to my emotions and learning how to cope or control them. Having a grateful attitude has been the biggest key in this transformation so far. Staying active and making healthy choices has played a huge role as well. . Also, I am terrible at concluding long posts like this (may add this to my resolutions for 2020), so… “That’ll do pig”.
