Took a little drive this evening in southern Union County as the sun was beginning to set. Drove quite a few backroads over along the river and could see the clouds turning a nice orange. I was about to give up and go home, but decided to take a road I'd never been on before. It went north for quite a ways then turned west. I went over the crest of a hill and there this small lake was! And it had the sunset reflecting right off it. Nancy was very patient as I took my Nikon D3100 and tripod out into the grass between the road and the lake and started shooting. Hardly any bugs . . . at first. Then all of a sudden along came the mosquitos, and I was too stubborn to go back to the car for mosquito repellant (plus I was on a roll shooting photos.) I also saw a few fireflies -- the first of the season. I guess you never know what's going to be around the next corner!
