Holy crap. This one was TOUGH. My heart rate hit 190bpm, according to @garminfitness ! ❤️ Nearly 1200 ft of ascent today and way-above-seasonal heat ☀️, it was 27C at the end of our run! *** My running partners saved me this morning; I was so happy to be out there with @jzironman and my NYC partner @dr.michaela. I was really struggling and they stayed with me; moral support goes a long way and got me to the end. Thank you both, I couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌 *** Some runs are just not your day, and that’s how it was for me today. Just got my very first pair of @newbalance running shoes!! The New Balance Fresh Foam Roavs in bright fuscia 😎😎😎..... . I've worn Nike shoes and apparel all my life, especially for basketball and tennis, and never gave it a second thought lol... . But, with my nagging calf and knee issues, I decided to try something entirely new.... . Though it was a lot harder than I thought to make the switch (I dont know why lol), I absolutely LOVE my new New Balance Roavs 🤩... . They're lightweight, roomy, wide toe box, and has a nice "spongy" feel when landing. And the back of the shoe "locks" my heel into place to minimize slippage... . I wore them for yesterday's 10k race and they were amazing! I plan to wear them for @chimarathon and @nycmarathon , so I'm gonna break them in over the next 3 weeks to prepare.... . How about you? Was für ein Spätsommertag. Und punkto Training heute gaaaanz tief in die Trickkiste gegriffen: Als Personal Pacemaker kurzerhand @nala.theridge engagiert – und damit die nach wie vor in den Knochen steckende Müdigkeit bekämpft. Nudelfertig waren wir dann am Schluss zugegebenermassen beide; meine Zunge hing nicht ganz so weit raus ... Der @koelnmarathon in drei Wochen wird definitiv «nur» Trainingscharakter haben, auf Zeit laufen, liegt derzeit nicht drin. Oder anders ausgedrückt: Et kütt wie et kütt! Das Wochenende wurde passivsportmässig übrigens mit einem ausführlichen Gespräch über den @rennsteiglauf abgerundet: Der Supermarathon steht am 16. Primeira maratona a gente nunca esquece... a primeira maratona não tem como, você vai quebrar... era o que as pessoas me falavam. E mesmo assim eu quis encarar o desafio. Ninguém falou que seria fácil: é não foi... tava bem até 17km, depois começou a surgir as câimbras. No 23km quebrei de vez, as duas panturrilhas com câimbras e veio as dores nas costas... Mas ninguém falou que eu ia desistir não é mesmo? Lutei até o fim... os últimos 3km foram chorando de dor literalmente... não tô nem aí pro tempo, mas a superação dos percalços que eu passei hoje me tornou uma pessoa mais forte. Final 20 miler before the #chimarathon accomplished! I keep seeing runners talk about being in bed by 9 and I realize how strange it is to train for a #marathon as a working musician. I didn't get home from my gig until 12:15 last night and got up at 6 for my long run this morning -- and that was nothing compared to the late Saturdays playing with the Fly Honey Show last month. It's an extra challenge on top of an already challenging 70-mpw training plan, but I'm lucky to have a flexible job, a supportive partner, and an ability to take post-run naps. 3 weeks till race day!

Pikes Peak Marathon finisher, and a lot of other cools races. I just love racing. ENDURANCE JOURNEY: I started endurance sports 6 years ago. I was watching TV with my wife 6 months after my twin boys were born and we were discussing how we are going to tell all of our friends and family about our son’s newly diagnosed condition, Angelman syndrome. It’s a really rare genetic syndrome that creates significant cognitive delays and a whole host of other issues. I decided that night I would hike Kilimanjaro and raise awareness for this rare disease. But most importantly it would be a vehicle to tell our friends about Madden and what the heck Angelman Syndrome is. At that point I knew I could sign up for the climb pretty easily but didn’t think I was fit enough to do it so I started working out. I started running and did a couple sprint triathlons to get in shape and I found that I loved it. It was a perfect tribute to my son and a great way to tell people why I started doing these races and climbing mountains. Kilimanjaro turned into 2 Mount Rainer Climbs and a host of Colorado climbs as well. This new passion accelerated quickly and I started to do more and more races at greater distances and difficulty. Сегодня на рассвете несколько тысяч спортсменов и любителей бежали 7, 14 и 21 километр в «Kúzdik Jarty Marathon». Многие - впервые. Что такое марафон? Смогу ли? - Я ехала ночь и думала: нафига мне это надо? Но интересно ведь! - говорит участница марафона из Нур-Султана. Реклама мероприятия не была навязчивой, но участники съехались со всего Казахстана. Подростки и пожилые, иностранцы. Кто-то бежал за результатом, кто-то за эмоциями. Каждый получил, что хотел. Полицейские, уставшие от рабочих выходных, с интересом следили не только за порядком, но и за ходом марафона. Mais uma maratona do curriculo, e essa é especial por vários fatores. Muitas lesões no periodo, mas uma em especial me deixou totalmente de molho por 2 semanas, até 15 dias atrás eu não conseguia sequer andar sem sentir dor. Mas sei que faz parte e não podemos deixar de acreditar sempre. A cabeça sempre precisa ser treinada tanto quanto o corpo. Mas tudo foi se resolvendo e finalmente chegou na prova, minha primeira grande prova fora do Brasil. Chegamos tudo muito bem organizado, as ondas de largada funcionando pelo menos pra mim de forma perfeita, quando foi dado a largada com 500metros já estavam todos no mesmo ritmo. Em Buenos Aires acontece algo curioso no começo das provas, vai se formando vários pelotões, cada um a cada 50 metros, ninguém correndo sozinho. Eu percebi que o grupo estava um pouco mais forte do que eu pretendia correr, mas não poderia ficar sozinho então resolvi mudar a estratégia da corrida. Resolvi não olhar para o relógio mais, fui só acompanhando o grupo e sentindo o ritmo. Até a meia maratona foi perfeito, apesar de saber que estavam muito forte, mas estavam todos acompanhando. Só que ai o grupo começou a se disolver. Alguns ficaram para trás, outros abriram, e todo mundo ficando sozinho. Pode parecer que não faz diferença, mas estar com outras pessoas ajuda demais. Dali em diante as vezes passava algumas pessoas, as vezes outras me passavam, as vezes conseguia acompanhar, as vezes não. Do km 26 em diante senti demais a falta de ritmo das lesões, meu ultimo longão tinha sido a mais de 1 mês. Mas tenho uma estratégia que sempre funciona. Nunca pensar na chegada. Estava pensando somente no km 30, depois no km 32, depois no 35, depois no 37… Não dá para pensar no final porque isso pode desanimar. Isso fez muita diferença do km 32 em diante, entramos em uma rodovia e era um sobe e desce sem parar, e quase que não via ninguém, estavam todos dispersos. Week 3/Day 1: 3 miles sightseeing around Lake Union this morning in a recovery run. It was wet, but worth it! I kept stopping to take photos and forgetting to stop or start my watch, so I didn’t get an accurate accounting of the run but it was around 3 miles. Ring that PB Bell🔔🔔 Great East Run 2019 done in a time of 1:26:45 . I haven't felt this ready for a race for a few months, and all the training for the marathon is definitely paying off. 1minute 47seconds off my half PB and 8 and a bit minutes quicker than last year's run 💪🏻 . The home town atmosphere was awesome. Crowds of people through town, along the waterfront and along Wherstead road. Few smaller groups of people along the strand and then another good group at the top of 'The full f*cking Freston hill'. Running into Portman Road for the finish again was pretty sweet too . Next on the calendar is my first ever Spartan sprint race at Windsor. Half marathon 85. Wow! Swindon: 1:36:50 Stat of the day: The last time I ran a sub 1hr 40 Half marathon was November 2017... I've waited 53 half marathons to do that. And to be more than 3 minutes under without really pushing too much the entire time and to only be 17 seconds off my PB that's pretty scary. I've made alot of changes to my diet in the last few weeks, and that's enabled me to train alot harder and longer than usual and I think that's why I've managed to get a time like that today. My Target Race to go all out Was always planned to be at Salisbury next week. Due to it being a flat course. В детстве я ненавидела бег на длинные дистанции, в школе всегда прибегала последней с бордовым лицом. Прошло много лет, и для разгрузки мозгов, я начала бегать. 17 сентября 2019 я впервые в жизни легко пробежала свои первые 10 км, а ведь совсем недавно я и мечтать об этом не смела. 4 сентября меня взяли в волонтеры московского марафона и это был первый мой волонтерский опыт. И это подарило мне незабываемые эмоции, мысли о том, что 42.195 км это возможно. Спасибо моей команде, настолько мы все разные, но все мы одна большая беговая семья. Сегодня был дождь раз 5, ливень, который заливал лицо, но были эмоции марафонцев, которых заслоняли собой весь погодный спектр. Они герои, что бежали, а мы молодцы, что поддерживали.
