To cap off the national parks portion of our UK road trip, we spent a couple nights along the bonny banks of Loch Lomond . This area is truly a sight to behold! The lake is massive, so on Day 7 we hiked to the top of Conic Hill to get these amazing views 🤩. ---
Loch Lomond is only one of many lakes in The Trossachs National Park. We learned there's multi-day hiking routes through the area and is the first time we actually encountered people backpacking ⛺🥾 like we used to do back home. We were a little sad to learn about this at the end of our trip and are already discussing a return someday to backpack it ourselves. ---
The lakes are a destination for all types of travelers and budget types. You can find everything from basic campsites, to RV pitches and B&Bs. We even ran into an older couple (from Washington State no less!) who contracted with a company to take their luggage from one village to the next, while they walked the trails at their own pace, unburdened. ---
Do you prefer tent camping, campervan/RV'ing or B&B's?
