Tomorrow is probably going to be hard.
Some of you may or may not know that my first career was in social work. I have spent nearly two decades working to support others - primarily in the aging field. After getting my Master's degree, I was honored to have been offered a position working for a hospice agency. And it truly was my honor. There are some amazing people who are called to stand by brave patients and their families at the end of life. I have learned so much about life and death through my time there - more valuable than I can put into words. I can only hope that God has allowed me to touch their lives, as well.
Although I left my full-time position several years ago, I have remained connected to hospice still working on a contingent basis. But, I am finding that life is leading me elsewhere, and it is time to hang that hat. Tomorrow is my last shift with hospice.
My clients often ask, "How do you have time to do all that you do?" ... especially since I continue to work part-time in social work in a third job. 😊 I guess it's just become a part of who I am. I love serving others. And I am so thankful to be living this dream of doing ALL the things that I love.
What is ahead? Well, I anticipate being blessed to spend more time with family, and more time to serve my photography clients in a new way. I am excited for what is to come.💗 #amysimkusphotography #aboutme #lastshift #hospice #wherelifeleadsyou #ohiophotographer #northwestohiophotographer
