Walking along the aqueduct on Saturday heading towards Meall Chuaich. Made the most of the weather window in the Southeastern Highlands. Friday registered 80mph winds and Sunday was also due to be quite wild. It’s nice to let the forecasts tell you where and when to do. The only catch is having to figure out what’s accessible by public transport and whether the right OS map is available at the library 📚 🤓 #hillwalking #munro #scotland #scottishhills #meallchuaich #ordnancesurvey #scottishhighlands #mwis #zerowaste #lowcarbon

Throwback time! Little more than a few months after @shuv_ and I started hillwalking, and with just three days of hillwalking under our belts, we began to look at undertaking a challenge in 2010 In our staggering naivety, we looked at completing the Welsh 3000s Around the same time, my uncle Stan’s illness had intensified, so we decided to use our Welsh 3000s to raise funds for Cancer Research UK Living in southern England and relying on others for transport meant that the hillwalking aspect of our training consisted of a couple of day trips to the Brecon Beacons and a weekend trip to Snowdonia Following this trip to Snowdonia, our naivety finally wore off with a month to go, so we ultimately decided to split our Welsh 3000s over two days We completed the Snowdon range in good time but as we slogged up Elidir Fawr, tiredness set in. It was clear how much we had underestimated the Welsh 3000s. We continued as far as Y Garn before deciding to descend rather than keep going. We spent the next day resting before completing a full traverse of the Carneddau the next day Although our Welsh 3000s itself was unsuccessful, we did raise £3031 for Cancer Research UK We also learnt more than a few valuable lessons! #snowdon #cribgoch #elidirfawr #ygarn #welsh3000s #cancerresearchuk #snowdonia #snowdonianationalpark #visitsnowdonia #northwalestagram #snowdoniagram #snowdoniapics #wales #visitwales #adventure #hiking #mountains #outdoors #getoutside #liveforadventure #hikersuk #mountainsfellsandhikes #ordnancesurvey #raw_hikes #scenicbritain #ukhiddengems #ukhikers #ukhikingofficial #uk_hiking #walkinguk

Catbells Perspective. Normally when I shoot from Catbells I'll tend to shoot the skiddaw massif in the background and Catbells looks a lot less imposing. I focused this shot on the house, the light was quite nice, but also the fact the people were ant-like really gave the mountain more perspective. The clocks go forward next weekend, which means a lot more opportunity to capture beautiful sunsets like this latergram from my local reservoir 🕰⁣ ⁣ They actually go forward at 2am and we move from Greenwich Mean Time back to British Summer Time. ⁣ ⁣ Benjamin Franklin first came up with idea in 1784, suggesting that if people got up earlier, when it was lighter, then it would save on candles. But it arrived in the UK after Coldplay singer Chris Martin’s great-great-grandfather, William Willett, thought it was a good idea too, publishing a leaflet called The Waste of Daylight. ⁣ ⁣ It was eventually introduced in the UK in 1916. During WW2, we had British Double Summer Time, when the clocks were ahead by an extra hour during the summer but this did not last for very long. ⁣

O N L Y L I G H T ____ Darkness cannot drive out darkeness. Only light can do that. Love that quote, love who it's by even more. If you know who made the original statement without using Google, leave a comment below. We've entered a new week, the last week of March to be exact. Time for me still feels as if its going very slowly but I put that down to anticipation of all I'm expectant of which kicks off in April! But in the meantime whilst we're still in limbo in one way or another here's one of my favourite shots taken at Hatchet Pond during a sunset visit. ____ Facebook : FramedWithFaith Instagram : @FramedWithFaith Twitter : @FramedWithFaith Email : wendene @framedwithfaith.com Website : www.framedwithfaith.com . . . . . . . . . . . #exploreHampshire #discoverGB #Adventure #raw_UK #photosofengland #photosofbritain #lovegreatbritain #capturingbritain #capturingbritain_nature #explore_britain #ukpotd #visitbritain #visitengland #swisbest #brilliantbritain #nature_brilliance #ShotWithLove #bestnatureshots #sky_brilliance #Wanderlust #NikonPhotography #NikonD3400 #NikonClicks #thevisualones #fatalframes #womenwhoexplore #ordnancesurvey #discoverearth #earthpix #createandcapture

#MapMonday and a couple of questions...do you know that there is a difference between magnetic north (the direction a compass points) and grid north (the vertical blue grid lines on OS maps)? And did you know that magnetic north is constantly moving? For the first time in Great Britain since the 1660s, magnetic north is moving from being to the west of grid north to the east. The change started in the very south west corner of Britain, currently affects the areas to the west of the line on our map, and will slowly progress across the whole country over the next 12 to 13 years. Head to our blog to find out more about the change, see the full map, understand how it might affect you, and to brush up on your map reading skills. We've popped a link in our stories too 👉

My much anticipated trip to the Lakes turned out pretty rubbish weather-wise and I had a bit of camera malfunction too, which meant I had to resort to my phone as a back up. Despite all that, I had a great walk up to Wetherlam via Steel Edge and onto Swirl How from Tilberthwaite. This is the dam that goes across the south eastern edge of Levers Water reservoir. . . . . . . . . #thelakelanders #fromlakelandwithlove #lakedistricthikers #lakedistrict #lake_district #lovelakeswalks #lakedistrictnpa #hikingthelakes #endlesslyexploring #getyourRambleon #igerscumbria #lakedistrictcumbria #onelakedistrict #repostmyfujifilm #fujifilm_uk #theenglishnorth #northofengland #raw_uk #capturingbritain_rural #ukhikingofficial #getoutside #unlimitedsoul #trailmagazine #walkinguk #ordnancesurvey #getoutgirluk #thisismyadventure #properadventure #getinspiredgetoutside #showmeyourworld

The Great Stone of Fourstones - a glacial erratic boulder left behind 25,000 years ago as the Yorkshire Dales were carved by glaciers. Or whichever of the local folklore you fancy: the boulder was a) dropped by the devil who was on his way to build Devil's Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale, b) was thrown in anger across the Irish sea by the giant Finn McCool, or c) is a meteorite from space😂 there were originally 3 other stones but these were broken up to make scythe-sharpening stone⚒ - #greatstoneoffourstones #yorkshiredales #forestofbowland #lancashire #yorkshire #glacialerratic #erraticboulder #geology #folklore #earthcache #geocaching #wildandremote #getoutside #gooutside #thegreatoutdoors #ordnancesurvey #explore #adventure

I have wanted to visit Tŵr Mawr on Ynys Llanddwyn for such a long time and today it happened and it didn't disappoint! The island is particularly the associated with Dwynwen. Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, making her the Welsh equivalent of St. Valentine. The name Llanddwyn means "The church of St. Dwynwen" Thank you @missdaniboom for being an amazing tour guide this weekend x @natreswales @wales_coast_path @visitwales @visitnorthwales #discovercymru #newborough #anglesey #northwales #ynysmon #AONB #adventure #outdoors #ordnancesurvey #outdoorhero #beach #coastallife #landscapephotography #samsunggalaxys10 #explore_britain #thewalescollective #igerscymru #seascape #photography #explorewales #ynysllanddwyn
