Sparkling Galaxy 🌌 K11 MUSEA, Hong Kong’s Silicon Valley of Culture, is the most unconventional and innovative cultural-retail destination I’ve ever seen, and it’s definitely going to be the next most Instagrammable place in the world!
Situated on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, K11 MUSEA is the final addition and definitely the highlight of the US$2.6bn Victoria Dockside cultural district. A unique blend of cutting-edge technology infused with art and culture, this ten-storey retail and art complex is designed to appeal to brand-savvy millennials (like me!). My favourite piece of design here at K11 MUSEA has got to be the Oculus—not forgetting the Gold Ball, which is an enormous circular chamber of triangular latticework design. Hovering at the apex of the 33-metre tall grand atrium, the Oculus’s intricate vault sculpture design was inspired by cathedrals and consists of a network of individually designed branches that embrace two 7-metre wide skylights. I can only imagine how astounding it would be standing under it! Oh, and guess what? The curved aluminium panels are all hand-painted! The attention to detail here is sublime, considering that @adriancheng spent 10 years on this project!
