If you are #curious what is #inside the #shepherdshut (see previous post), there is an iron coal burner that works as an #oven and a #heater , a ledge that works as a #bed , albeit hard, and little #stools to sit on tbat doubles as tables. It is pretty #basic but in the #winter is is #warm , gives you #shelter and is all that a #shepherd or a #victorian #gamekeeper needs. I think it has a #charm about it. #tinyhouse #smallhouse #farming #periodhouse #nationaltrust #England #history #scenicbritain #wanderlust #travels #mildlyinteresting

All over the #vast #kingstonlacy #estate , #shepherdshut like this can be found. They are for the #workers and #keepers of the estate to take #shelter from all seasons. Inside, one can sleep, eat and get #protection from the #elements , from rain, snow, wind. #nationaltrust has set them up to what they looked like inside in the #victorian period. #tinyhomes #smallhouses #wanderlust #travels #dwellings #scenicbritain #walkinguk #farmlife #countrylife #landscapephotography #England

Monday, fun day? Here’s the last of the set from a walk in preparation for our trip to Scotland to take on Ben Nevis 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 next month a few of us at #TheWalkingAndTalkingSociety got together for an edgy walk in the Peaks, Stanage Edge to Derwent Edge. I pitched this to the lads as an easy simple walk...14 miles, 34000 steps & about 8 hours later it’s safe to say the pints & food at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn never tasted so sweet 😅 Here’s some photos of us on our journey featuring @joelgardnermusic wearing @fulwoodlondon 📸 If you’re interested in walking & enjoy a bit of talking & photography too, let me know! We’re always up for getting more people out exploring 🙌 Check out @dabanksy ’s blog via the link in his bio for an awesome write up of the days trials & tribulations 🤣 #ExploreWithBrendan #VisitPeakDistrict #PeaksCollective #WalkingUK #HikingUK #VisitDerbyshire @explore_britain_ @visitderbyshire @visitpeakdistrict

That morning I had been talking to my Argentinian friend I just meet, she loved British music like me, she didn’t know about all the musical locations on London, like the Berwick Street or Hoxton Street, she loved Richard Ashcroft. Also, we talked about Argentinian bands which had taken as an influence the British bands. . That morning we decided to start our music itinerary, starting with Abbey Road, the problem was that we had to miss one class, but not only we had done it but some other students, the difference they had decided to go to pubs and shopping centers; anyway, each one with their own likes. . We took the metro to Abbey Road but we didn’t remember that the first day of class they had talked about there are more than 5 places with the same name in London. After 30 minutes we were in a lonely station, with almost just 2 people per street. The sun was intense and we were using the app to get the zebra crossing but we still didn’t watch anyone. . We wanted to get one place of one of the most important bands of the world, it was strange not watching anyone, we had already arrived at Abbey Road and even though we walked thought never found the zebra crossing. . We asked a man and he laughed loud and said that we were so far from the Beatles Abbey Road. Because of our emotion for going to, we didn’t realize that we had walked so much and were already so far away from the station. That man offered his help to bring us in his car to the station, that I can’t remember the name. . He said that we should consider two connections, the last one stop should be St John Wood. When we arrived there, everything was different, there were people and we didn’t need a map to get here, just to follow them. I can't explain those all faces full of happiness and also, this corner, in fact, this building between Grove End Road and Abbey Road. . Why is the Abbey Road sign in a high place in the building? Because any mad fan would like to take it and add it to all his Beatles discography, he would be the most envied. I’m not sure if there will a Beatles fan who measures more than 3 meters, I hope Slenderman wasn’t a Beatlemaniac.

Happy Monday Driving home from being told I have cracked my ribs whilst at work, I couldn’t help but spot how blue the old cement pit was looking so had to pull over just to admire it. Don’t let the sunshine fool you today it’s bloody windy as hell out there. Couldn’t find a decent spot to shot a long exposure today, but least I know know that I can shoot from the road side. Will have to plan to get down during better light. Once open @standrewslakes will be a great feature to the Medway Valley. ========================== 📍Snodland - St Andrews Lakes 📷 iPhone 8 ⚙️ f/1.8 ISO 20 ========================== Would appreciate it if you would turn on post notifications on this account! ========================== #bestpicshub #mybritain #britains_talent #photosofbritain #loves_britain #loves_united_kingdom #ukscenery #traveling_uk #genuinebritain #bestunitedkingdom #capturingbritain #icu_britain #scenicbritain #march #excellent_britain #igersuk #gloriousbritain #britain_online # #uk_shots #beautifulbritannia #seisbestfeatures #snodland #photooftheday #blue #picoftheday #chalkpits #thisprettyengland #visitkent #kent

When your driving around an unknown area and the sunset goes off. You just gotta bail out work with what you’ve got and wander round a level crossing. Somewhere in wonderful Yorkshire (nearly as good as Lancashire).

The risk of Britain leaving the European Union without a deal is the biggest risk facing the slowing euro zone economy in the short term, Finnish central bank chief Olli Rehn told Germany's Die Welt newspaper in remarks published on Monday. "In the short term Brexit is surely the biggest threat," said Rehn, who sits on the European Central Bank's rate-setting Governing Council. "Financial markets seem to be too relaxed and appear to underestimate the risk." He said the ECB had made arrangements with the Bank of England to blunt turbulence in the case of a disorderly Brexit.

Repost @tomormerod ・・・ What a fantastic sunrise we had yesterday 👍 myself and a small band of equally daft photographers met at Lulworth at 04:30 and trekked over to Mupe Bay, we arrived about 50 mins before sunrise and we all had a good feeling about it. The tide was really low, so @neilharrison74 and I decided to do a spot of ledge hopping while @cjmeads and @ed027 headed further back. It was also great to bump into @benbschofield and wave at @ian_perkins_photography in one of his normal precarious spots 👍 . This shot was about 30 mins before sunrise as the sky really started to fire up 👌 . @olympusuk OM-D E-M1 MK II @venuslaowa 7.5mm f2 ISO 200 f11 M1 CPL & 3 Stop soft grad Lightroom/photoshop . . . #jurassiccoast #mupebay #lulworth #dorset #visitdorset #lovefordorset #swisbest #dramaticdorset #igersdorset #exploredorset . #UKshots #photosofbritain #ukscenery #scenicbritain #uk_shooters #yourbritain #swscenery #visitengland . #olympusuk #olympuspassion #getolympus #microfourthirds #microfourthirdsgallery . #landscapephotographer #capturelandscapes #fiftyshades_of_nature #landscape_photography #landscape_lover #worldshares #lazyshutters

Staying on the coast and travelling a little north to reach North Berwick. Bass Rock is one of many small islands dotted throughout the Fourth. The Bass, at over 300 feet tall, is possibly one of the most easily identified islands off the coast of East Lothian. The drab grey and white rock is now one of the largest colony of Gannets in the world. With a long lens or a short boat, you can watch swarms of the seabirds swoop, dive, and fish off the enormous cliffs. Before its feathery owners, the island was inhabited from as early as 600 AD. Eight hundred years later, from the beginning of the 14th century, the island is thought to have had its own castle and laird. Oliver Cromwell took the Bass in the mid-1600s. The rock became a notorious and grim gaol for religious and political prisoners of the time. The ruins of the chapel and castle walls remain on the island. Stonework for the castle keep and living quarters was destroyed to provide materials to build the lighthouse in 1902. Without the need for even a lighthouse keeper today, the island is a nature sanctuary for the 1000's of gannets that cover it throughout the year. #caledoniawild #scotland #scottishcollective #eastlothian #birds #bassrock #outandaboutscotland #thisisscotland #igscotland #scotlandmagazine #scotland4you #simplyscotland #scotspirit #scotlandexplore #lovescotland #s_s_s #instascotland #ig_scotland #beautifulscotland #spotlight_britain #scenicbritain #raw_uk #total_landscapes #icu_scotland #fishing #unlimitedscotland #scotlandshots #seascape #hiddenscotland #visitscotland

Throwback time! Little more than a few months after @shuv_ and I started hillwalking, and with just three days of hillwalking under our belts, we began to look at undertaking a challenge in 2010 In our staggering naivety, we looked at completing the Welsh 3000s Around the same time, my uncle Stan’s illness had intensified, so we decided to use our Welsh 3000s to raise funds for Cancer Research UK Living in southern England and relying on others for transport meant that the hillwalking aspect of our training consisted of a couple of day trips to the Brecon Beacons and a weekend trip to Snowdonia Following this trip to Snowdonia, our naivety finally wore off with a month to go, so we ultimately decided to split our Welsh 3000s over two days We completed the Snowdon range in good time but as we slogged up Elidir Fawr, tiredness set in. It was clear how much we had underestimated the Welsh 3000s. We continued as far as Y Garn before deciding to descend rather than keep going. We spent the next day resting before completing a full traverse of the Carneddau the next day Although our Welsh 3000s itself was unsuccessful, we did raise £3031 for Cancer Research UK We also learnt more than a few valuable lessons! #snowdon #cribgoch #elidirfawr #ygarn #welsh3000s #cancerresearchuk #snowdonia #snowdonianationalpark #visitsnowdonia #northwalestagram #snowdoniagram #snowdoniapics #wales #visitwales #adventure #hiking #mountains #outdoors #getoutside #liveforadventure #hikersuk #mountainsfellsandhikes #ordnancesurvey #raw_hikes #scenicbritain #ukhiddengems #ukhikers #ukhikingofficial #uk_hiking #walkinguk

Ness Cove Splashes. Yesterday was a Sunday worthy of the name sun-day. In the morning we drove down to Shaldon and spend some quality time at Ness Cove beach. I am naturally drawn to the massive boulders strewn on the northern edge of the beach. The light was pretty harsh for serious photography so I took some time experimenting with exposure times and tried to capture some of the spray in motion rather than freezing it. This was my best attempt... #nesscove #shaldon #sandybeach #beachesoftheworld #visitsouthdevon #dramaticseascapes #ukbeauty #ukhiddengems #ukcoast #ukshots #scenicbritain #gloriousbritain #visitdevon #cokincreative #landscapephotography #landscapelovers #seascapephotography #watermovement #longexposure #familyfuntimes

The clocks go forward next weekend, which means a lot more opportunity to capture beautiful sunsets like this latergram from my local reservoir 🕰⁣ ⁣ They actually go forward at 2am and we move from Greenwich Mean Time back to British Summer Time. ⁣ ⁣ Benjamin Franklin first came up with idea in 1784, suggesting that if people got up earlier, when it was lighter, then it would save on candles. But it arrived in the UK after Coldplay singer Chris Martin’s great-great-grandfather, William Willett, thought it was a good idea too, publishing a leaflet called The Waste of Daylight. ⁣ ⁣ It was eventually introduced in the UK in 1916. During WW2, we had British Double Summer Time, when the clocks were ahead by an extra hour during the summer but this did not last for very long. ⁣

Aaaand I'm back, and we're off... Two weeks in, and no solid idea of when we're stopping. We're slowly settling into some sort of routine, mostly, kind of. It's already been crazy and non-stop after saying goodbye... Man, it was damn hard saying goodbye to Devon. Especially the people we'd met, we became close enough with some that goodbye forever wasn't an option anymore. I'm not going to start writing name's, that list will be just too long; there's so much to be grateful for and so many who impacted our time here, you all made it so hard to leave. But it's already nice to know we'll be back soon enough because of that impression left. Everything with a beginning has an ending, so will this trip. We're going to try make the most of it, so stay tuned, I'll try keep you all updated. Rach keeps the stories going on @travelswithtony pretty well too if you're not already on board with that. This was the arvo of our D-Day (last picture) and morning of Day 1(first picture). What these photos don't show is a sleepless night and us relocating at 2am on our first night because of 90kph winds... . . . . . . . . . #Devon #bevisuallyinspired #uk_shooters #bbcbritain #uk_shooters #visualsofearth #visitdevon #gloriousbritain #bbcbritain #visitengland #englandsbigpicture #lf10k #scenicbritain #lovegreatbritain #vol5k #stayandwander #bevisuallyinspired #vicivisuals #ukpotd #ukcoast #earthoutdoors10k #capturingbritain #loveukweather #topukphoto #uk_greatshots #photosofengland #uas10k #vol5k #steedsofinstagram #gloriousbritain
