Balance. This has been a place of struggle for me.
I either go full force, 1000% effort, sacrificing too much of my own personal sanity...or I completely shut down, laziness kicks in, and I lose my drive for everything that matters.
Each new shift of the season, I have to recalibrate. I ask myself hard questions: does this fit with what I've prioritized? Will it sacrifice too much of my family time? Is it a temporary sprint or am I biting off more than my stamina will be able to handle before I can rest? Is this truly the direction God is leading me to?
It's never a perfect science and rarely can I put myself on cruise control and just let it all work out. Intentionality is the key to my sanity and serenity. Recalibration is necessary to give my heart and mind the healthy balance it needs. Shifts, tweaks, and a few surrendering moments is usually what brings me to a place where I really do thrive, not just survive in life.
Friend, ask yourself some of those honest questions if you feel like something's off. If you're struggling with sadness, overwhelm, exhaustion, loneliness, anger, whatever it is...you can change SOMETHING in your life to give you more of what your soul is craving. Talk to your spouse or friend about it. Let them into your world. Trust in His voice and you will know what to do.
