BRM 400 HELLS RIDGE+
- 400km /6'250 hm in 24 h
- more than 10'000 calories burned in one ride
The start of the BRM 400 HELLS RIDGE+ (THB) @audaxsuisse was originally scheduled for Saturday at 6am. Due to the bad weather forecast (heavy rain and thunderstorm), Audax Parisien allows an early start at Friday 20:00 pm.
It was good to choose the early start and ride through the night. The night was warm and very windy - anyway the Ostschweiz was a nice experience at night on the bike. At the Schwägalp we had a short powernap. Before the Vorder Höchi a few lonly raindrops came from heaven, but in sum it stayed dry and humid.
Afterwards, the Pragelpass and the Ibergeregg demanded the last reserves of muscle strength... The short break in Unterägeri at a bakery was urgently needed to refill the reserves. There we saw the thunderstorm front on the rain radar. At this moment it was clear that we had to give everything again until the finish line.. ...the last kilometres from Reinsfelden to the finish were then only done with willpower.
In short a great brevet with a hellish amount of altitude (6'250hm), some Gravel and through a great landscape.
