W i n t e r // Freezing cold, iced grass, blue skies, low light. Winter can be beautiful too. I mean...just look at this scene. I took this in the Lakes when I was up there at Christmas. The last time we did this walk, Evelyn waded into the river as if in a trance and water flooded in over the top of her wellies! We had to abort the walk and I had to carry her all the way back to the car! It was much more successful at Christmas and we got to walk to the lovely Chesters Café and enjoyed mulled wine. Sometimes the simplest of days are the best aren’t they? Xx

@ben.bush_ is having a photography exhibition. It sounds great! He wrote "In The Still Of The Night' - I'm very excited to announce my first major solo exhibition to take place for two months Feb 2nd - 31st march 2019 at the Gaddum Gallery at Brockhole The Lake District Visitors Centre. A showcase of mainly night photography from the lake District and further afield. This is an exhibition showing my passion and love for being out at night and astro photography. It'd be great to see you there. Completely free to visit. Excited and a little scared!! "

Climbed High Rigg in St John's in the Vale today ❤️ . . . Great to be back in the mountains after a busy week of work. And it was number 207 of my 2nd round of the Wainwrights. Only 7 more to go. Wahey! 😀👍

W e e k e n d // What I’d like to be doing today is rambling around the Lakes, like we were doing at Christmas when I got this picture. Instead, we’re staying at home to paint and get DIY jobs done like put up (more) shelves, curtain rails and blinds (which should have been put up 8 years ago). Don’t you just love a rainy day?! 🙄 I really want to start running again though so going to make that my target for today as, like so many others, I’m trying to bring in a little more self care to my life. Tonight we have friends round so that will be a good reward for the hard work.🥂Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. X

Late evening light falls on the beautiful and unmistakeable Langdale Pikes. Taken from Lingmoor Fell shortly before my @thelakelanders post from yesterday was shot.

Lingmoor Fell ****************************************** Morning all! @andysj11 with you this morning. I hope you’re all well and sticking to your New Years resolutions 🤔 ****************************************** This is a shot from yesterday, my first venture out with the camera in 2019. It is taken from near the top of Lingmoor Fell, the place that inspired me to take up photography. If you haven’t made it up Lingmoor before it’s well worth popping it on your list. There are loads of compositions with fences, walls and heather and views of the fells on either side. I parked by the cattle grid at the bottom of side pike, however it is just as easily accessed from Blea Tarn National Trust car park. Both involve a bit of a steep clamber at times but my preference is usually from Blea Tarn, as the views start to unfold in front of you once you’ve made the ridge at the top. Legs can be rested and thirsts quenched at a variety of pubs or hotels in Great Langdale. ****************************************** Don’t forget, if you’d like one your own images to appear in our daily feature, keep tagging #thelakelanders in your Lake District posts. Hope you have a good one, I’ll be back with the daily feature later this evening. ****************************************** #landscapephotography #lakedistrict #fromlakelandwithlove #scenicbritain #theplacetobe #wearethelakes #ordnancesurvey #getoutside #thegreatoutdoors #landscapelovers #hikingthelakes #igerscumbria #explore_britain #genuinebritain #Bestunitedkingdom #ukscenery #lovethelakes #walking #ukpotd #GloriousBritain #bestukpics #FSfeatures #EnglandsLakeDistrict #WalkingUK #nationalparksuk #YourShotPhotographer #nature_brilliance #landscape_captures #awesome_earthpix
