I think there’s a hidden glitch about community service in our society. Most of us think that exhibiting compassion to the community only means showing altruism to the less fortunate, cleanup drives or charity works that involve donations of various goods. I believe that these types of volunteerism are noble, but these aren’t the only ways that one can serve purpose. Consequently, there are cases when some members of the society tend to be miserable when obliged to volunteer. When the heart is lost, the real essence of serving the community becomes eradicated. In simple words, if we are forced to do something that we dislike, everything goes into waste. So what now? I believe this is the part of the story where passion enters service and reality. —
There are endless possibilities where we can use our own unique capabilities and channel our passion to provide service to others. This can be done when we first pay attention to the world around us then taking relevant action. We enjoy different things in life yet allowing this difference to illuminate significant change in our world uplifts humanity. Moreover, we strive to discover our sole purpose in life. Little did we know that purpose doesn’t have a fixed definition and is actually changing as time goes by. To simply live purposefully in our own fashion, we create an impact on others that later on serves as an avenue of improvement of ourselves as well. There is a perpetual coexistence of passion and purpose that connects our energies together. At our own peripheries, our own paces, and our own phases, may we never cease to listen to that whisper that makes life sublime.
