Morning all! This is a shot taken the other day before most of the snow disappeared. There was some great dramatic light highlighting parts of the fells with the Langdale Pikes getting their share in this instance!

Derwent Isle boat house and it’s surrounding trees looking lovely as the light catches the tree tops. The path up Catbells clearly defined by the sprinkling of snow on the fells.

Photograher in the mist. I’ve just started going back through my images with the intention of getting my website properly populated. It’s easy to go straight for what you think are the ‘headline acts’ and overlook other shots. This shot was from October last year whilst wandering around Buttermere. I was checking out the curves along the waters edge when a fellow tog set up on the end of the gravel bar. With the mist swirling around it gave the impression he was almost walking on water. I think he adds a great sense of scale to Fleetwith Pike in the background too. Hope you like it!

Landscape version as promised!

Rydal Sunrise. Those of you who follow @thelakelanders will have seen this post from a couple of days ago. A beautiful misty morning at Rydal Water. I’ll post the landscape version separately afterwards.

I thought it was lovely when I arrived at Rydal Water yesterday, but with the clock ticking on guest house duties I had to make a swift dash back to the car. As I climbed in, the sun rose over the fell and the scene was transformed. I decided to risk the wrath of my better half and the guests expecting their full English on time to fire off a few snaps. 😋

Yesterdays family outing to Keswick was finished off with a trot up Latrigg. We were rewarded with some wonderful light rays illuminating the Newlands Valley and Derwentwater. Managed to fire off a few shots before the kids froze on the spot...😳

After an early wander up Gowbarrow fell, dawn light washes across a snow covered Helvellyn.

A long lens shot of the windy path around Loughrigg tarn as the early morning sun lights up the mist.

A pano swipe (my first!) of some lovely misty moodiness from Loughrigg yesterday morning. After de-icing the car had put me behind schedule, a bit of a fast march up the fell had me ‘breathing out of my bottom’, for want of a better description. 😳 Still, it was worth the effort . A few more to come from this session I hope! 😀

This is a post I made on @thelakelanders a few weeks ago. A beautiful evening at Ashness jetty on Derwentwater. I was told I needed a jetty shot by the kids so here it is 😋

A copse of trees stands out in the snow on Sallows. Lovely light meandered across the fells before a blizzard set in

Another from a couple of days ago at blea tarn. I took a step away from the edge of the frozen tarn to take this image of the lines in the ice. It was starting to get a bit dark at this point so it needed a 6 second exposure.

A frozen blea tarn with a dusting of snow during blue hour yesterday. I tried to capture some of the lovely shapes and lines in the ice but the instacrop hasn’t helped as ever!

A landscape version of my @thelakelanders post this morning. This is near Matterdale, a place I need to spend more time exploring!

Looking across to a snow capped and sunlit Wetherlam and Swirl How. The sun on the melt water gave the impression of frozen streams on the fellside.

Evening all! Typical, the first flurry of snow in the Lakes and where am I? London... 🙄 Still, all in a good cause, my eldest’s 9th Birthday 😁 This is from my wander up Lingmoor the other day.

Late evening light falls on the beautiful and unmistakeable Langdale Pikes. Taken from Lingmoor Fell shortly before my @thelakelanders post from yesterday was shot.
