I don’t ordinarily post phone shots but the skies over the langdales and behind Windermere were unbelievaeable tonight. Schoolboy error not having the big camera but I did my best with the old iPhone 6!

Brathay Dawn. Those of you who follow @thelakelanders will have seen this post a couple of days ago. I had to pull over after crossing the river Brathay having caught sight of this lovely dawn scene. I just loved the mist and light reflected in the river, hope you do too!

⬅️⬅️⬅️PANO-SWIPE!!⬅️⬅️⬅️ A swipey pano from the river Brathay near Elterwater on the same morning as yesterday’s @thelakelanders post. A beautiful spot with lots of options photographically and an easy stroll to a fabulous piece of cake at Chesters 😁

Morning all! Just managed to get a few seconds to myself to post this shot from by the river Brathay a few weeks ago. A lovely misty morning was just starting to clear as the sun popped up above the tree line. Have a good one! 👍

Sorry for the radio silence of recent, it’s been a wee bit busy at the guesthouse and two of my family have been on crutches this week 😬 I haven’t been out with the camera for a while after knackering myself out but ready to get back on it with a bit of luck! One of the advantages of being up early for landscape work is that you happen upon all manner of wildlife too! This is a Red deer near Clappersgate in the Lake District.

Happy Sunday everyone! A quick post before the guests pile down for their breakfasts! This is another from my trip to Wastwater where the gorse bushes were in flower. This is one of the few images I managed to get without @shaunderbyphotography stood in the water... 😁 The light is a little flat but I still liked the scene

Morning all! This is a view down to Ullswater from the ascent of Sheffield Pike. Starting from Glencoyne Bay, it’s a nice steady climb up to the summit where you gain some lovely views of Helvellyn and Catstye Cam.

Lovely colours down on Wastwater a couple of weeks ago. After spending a wee while longer than expected up on Hardknott my time here was a little brief. I was probably a little late to the party and this was unfortunately the last of any decent light/colour. A great excuse to head back at a later date, but a reminder to keep my blinkers on over the passes next time 😀

Morning all! Hope the shades and sun tan lotion are ready for another scorcher. 😎 Before the snow is a distant memory this is a shot of the mighty Great Gable as a hail storm swept over its moody peak. To think people say the weather is the Lakes is changeable.... 😁

Scafell and Slight Side yesterday. This was shot en route to Wastwater, the snow and light stopping me at practically every turn on the hardknott pass!

Morning all! This is a shot taken the other day before most of the snow disappeared. There was some great dramatic light highlighting parts of the fells with the Langdale Pikes getting their share in this instance!

Derwent Isle boat house and it’s surrounding trees looking lovely as the light catches the tree tops. The path up Catbells clearly defined by the sprinkling of snow on the fells.

Photograher in the mist. I’ve just started going back through my images with the intention of getting my website properly populated. It’s easy to go straight for what you think are the ‘headline acts’ and overlook other shots. This shot was from October last year whilst wandering around Buttermere. I was checking out the curves along the waters edge when a fellow tog set up on the end of the gravel bar. With the mist swirling around it gave the impression he was almost walking on water. I think he adds a great sense of scale to Fleetwith Pike in the background too. Hope you like it!

Landscape version as promised!

Rydal Sunrise. Those of you who follow @thelakelanders will have seen this post from a couple of days ago. A beautiful misty morning at Rydal Water. I’ll post the landscape version separately afterwards.

I thought it was lovely when I arrived at Rydal Water yesterday, but with the clock ticking on guest house duties I had to make a swift dash back to the car. As I climbed in, the sun rose over the fell and the scene was transformed. I decided to risk the wrath of my better half and the guests expecting their full English on time to fire off a few snaps. 😋

Yesterdays family outing to Keswick was finished off with a trot up Latrigg. We were rewarded with some wonderful light rays illuminating the Newlands Valley and Derwentwater. Managed to fire off a few shots before the kids froze on the spot...😳

After an early wander up Gowbarrow fell, dawn light washes across a snow covered Helvellyn.
