This #FemaleFilmmakerFriday we’re celebrating @chintislundgren and her adorable/sexy film about a virginal fox….you gotta see it to believe it (link in bio). Chintis’s best advice for female filmmakers just getting started? “Just do it! When you're a beginner there's no time to make the perfect film. Just make something, send it to festivals, and put it on the web. Once it's done, make another one. Making mistakes is the best way to learn.” . . . #vimeo #video #femalefilmmaker #empoweringwomen #freethebid #animator #animation #filmmaker #inspiration #inspo #quote #instaquote #wisdom #girlpower #shortfilm

Staff Picked director and producer @Maris.Curran is this week’s #FemaleFilmmakerFriday. Maris got her start in an artist community in Philly. She was 19 when she took her first production class and fell in love with the art of filmmaking. . “As I grew older, social justice became central to my life and I realized that artistic expression was my means to contribute and add to the cultural conversation,” Maris says. What she loves most about making films? “The concrete means to simultaneously express myself and reach people emotionally.” . When asked for one piece of advice she would give to female filmmakers just starting out in the biz, Maris said what pretty much everyone needs to hear: "Making a film is an act of endurance. Work on films that are filled with ideas, characters, and stories you can't shake."
